As travel restrictions lift and the Summer draws close, people are starting to think about their forthcoming holiday plans.
Obviously we’re all for encouraging people to experience the Italian ‘dolce vita’ and it really is a country that has a huge offering of styles of holiday.
Here’s an idea of just some of types of Italian holiday you can have.
Beaches and Islands
If lazing on a beach is your type of thing, then there are so many to choose from all around the coast of Italy – they’re all great – and there are some amazing islands to ‘boot’ (see what I did there!) too! Sardinia, Sicily and Capri are the obvious island choices but also check out Ischia and Elba.
Bustling City Life
Head for the cities… Everyone thinks of Rome first but, in honesty, there’s others you really need to visit such as Naples, Perugia, Milan and my favourite Florence. I could spend days walking round that city, looking up at the amazing buildings checking out the great food and drink spots, listening to the street music, seeing the art and visiting the wonderful Mercato Centrale food market. Best tip, rent an apartment and live like a local… in fact, do that everywhere to really experience a place.
Lake Life
Italy has its great offering of lakes, the best known being Lake Garda, Como and Maggiore, but you know my heart is in Umbria so it’s Lake Trasimeno for me. The fourth largest lake in Italy yet utterly peaceful. Surrounded by hill top towns, rolling green hills, vineyards and olive groves and yes, there are beaches. My favourite spot being in Castiglione del Lago where you can spend the day relaxing at ‘Pescatore’ bar. Heavenly!
A Cultural Trip
I mean, there isn’t a county with more culture than Italy is there? Music, art, dance, theatre, books, Italy has it all in abundance and it’s first-class. Immerse yourself in the beauty and culture and return home feeling refreshed, reset and inspired.
Romance
It goes without saying that Italy is the home of Romance so it’s the perfect choice for that date weekend, proposal, wedding, honeymoon or even a cheeky elopement. I’ll totally help you plan that!
Food & Drink
Food and drink are fundamental to Italian culture and life so every region has a host of incredible delicacies and must try produce. Honestly, you won’t go wrong in any region – you can focus your whole trip on food and drink and there are some amazing cooking holidays on offer too. I’m happy to help you find your perfect experience.
Get Active
Whether it’s water sports, cycling, golf, hiking or horse riding there are numerous ways to get active in Italy… simply decide how active you want to be and you will find a holiday for your requirements.
Skiing
OK, not in the Summer obviously but Italy really does have some great ski spots if that’s your thing! Or maybe you’ve just been inspired by the Winter Olympics? Italy is a great location to get those ski lessons booked for the next season.
Don’t just go to the obvious places when you visit Italy, travel around and experience more. It’s so easy to get around the country and to the islands and it doesn’t have to cost the earth.
So where in Italy will you go this Summer?
Much Love, Tabby x
