It was dubbed as being “more Umbria than Cumbria” so I had to pay it a visit really didn’t I?
It’s definitely frustrating not being able to get to Umbria right now due to travel restrictions, but there really are some gems of places to visit local here in England.
Today I found one of those places close to my little quiet escape home in Cumbria. It’s called Larch Cottage (www.larchcottage.co.uk) and is close to Penrith, a stone’s throw from Ullswater in the Lake District.
It’s home to a garden nursery, beautiful Italian style walled gardens, a barn full of beautiful and unique artwork and home style items and a restaurant called ‘La Casa Verde’ which has a balcony draped in Wisteria overseeing the Italian Palazzo style grounds and sculptures.
It’s well worth a visit for some zen time and inspiration and the cuppa and cheese scone is well worth the investment!
Much Love, Tabby xxx
