It’s now 17 months since I was last in the place I call ‘home’ – the safe and quiet haven of Umbria – better known as the ‘Green Heart of Italy’.
It’s the beating heart of the country, untouched, unspoilt and thanks to its status as the only landlocked region of Italy, still relatively unfound by tourists – just a steady flow of returning enthusiasts who fell in love with its charm, just like I did.
To say I’ve not been back for 17 months due to global pandemics and travel restrictions, plenty has happened though and I’m counting down the days until we can action all our plans.
The new home and office (named “Posta Felice”) is ready for renovation. I’ve not seen it yet but I know its going to be a gem because it’s in the tiny hamlet of Gioella, which translates as ‘little jewel’ and it’s outside my most favourite historic town of Castiglione del Lago on the shores of Lake Trasimeno – the 4th largest lake in Italy.
I’ve also launched our new busines “Sentire by Mode for…” which will treat you to exclusive boutique experiences, from golf to food and wine tours, boutique and intimate weddings in exclusive family-style venues and a range of wellbeing retreats to help you feel calm and happy. So, yes, I’m counting down the days until this is my view again and I breathe the air that makes me feel alive and calm all in one. I can’t wait to share it all with you.
